Back to normal scheduling with Mrs Adams and Miss Tringham this week, well done everyone!
This week
In Writing, we have used what we know about sentence types, sentence openers and punctuation to write our own diaries.
In Reading, we have nearly finished reading 'The Magic Finger' by Roald Dahl, supporting our reading partners in fluency and prosody. We have also started looking at reading comprehension.
In Maths, we finished our unit on time, everyone worked very hard!
In Phonics, we finished all the /k/ sound variants /c/ /cc/ /ck/ /ch/
In Geography we have been working on analysing and recording field data.
In PSHE we have been learning about and practicing kindness, as well as continuing to utilise our Zones of Regulation curriculum.
In PE we have continued Athletics working on distance running and sprints, ready for sports day.
In Science we developed our knowledge of seeds and what they need to sprout, grow and thrive.
In Music we explored digital creation of patterns using different instruments on Purple Mash.
In Art and Technology we designed and made a Stick Man model based off our own ideas.
We also had an amazing Mental Health day learning lots about regulation strategies, yoga, and mindfulness. We had a visit from Jade at the Sports Partnerships to play some fun learning games in a workshop about 'Balanced Eating', 'Sleep' and 'Healthy Habits'.
Next week-
In Writing, we will be writing animal fact files.
In Reading, we will continue our paired reading curriculum with fluency and comprehension tasks.
In Maths, we will be working on statistics, charts, reading and recording data.
In Phonics, we will move on to /r/ sounds with variations /rr/ /rh/ /wr/
In PE we will be working on Sports Day Practice on Monday, with the real thing on Wednesday (weather allowing).
In Music we will learn a new song, look at some music history and perform on untuned instruments.
In Geography we will learn about the features of the UK and compare it with features of other countries.
In Science we will continue observing, and caring for, our growing plants.
PE days are now Mondays and Thursdays.
