Year 3 News

The highlight of the week were the computing lesson and also the amazing descriptive poems the children manage to write. Everyone was very excited about using laptops for the first time, log in with funny emoji's passwords and working with writing secret messages in word documents. Well done to everyone for embrasing learning this week!

English: We finished our descriptive poems. They are amazing! Everyone use excellent descriptive language. We also started learning about an explanation text.

Reading: We started reading 'The wild way home' by Sophie Kirtley

Maths: We learnt how to find non-unit fraction and unit fractions of an object/number and worked on solving word problems involving fractions.

History: We learnt about ordinary Egyptians life.

Geography: We learnt about climate zones.

PE: We practiced athletic skills for the sport day.

Computing: We were learning about the importance of keeping password safe, touch typing 'Qwerty' key position and practiced typing in word document.

 
Next Week

English: We are going to learn about the features of an explanation text and learn how to use them in our writing.

Reading: We will continue to fractice fluency and comprehension with 'The wild way home'.

Maths: We will start learning about money, converting pounds and pence, add and subtract money.

History: We will be learning about Rosetta Stone discovery.

Geography: We will be looking at countrues and cities in Europe.

Computing: We will learn about altgorythms and decoding.
